45 militants held from Jalozai so far

NOWSHERA: The security forces until now have arrested at least 45 militants including two suicide bombers from the Jalozai camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Briefing members of the local and foreign media on Saturday, Special Support Group Regional Deputy Commander Major Syed Shehzad Ali Bukhari said with the cooperation of the IDPs, the law-enforcement agencies had arrested 45 militants and two would-be suicide bombers from the camp.
“After their arrest, they were handed over to the intelligence agencies and police for further interrogation,” he added.
He said about 90 per cent tents of the inmates at the camp were damaged in the recent windstorm. He said 1,500 tents had been distributed among the IDPs whose tents were torn apart. He said in the next phase about 5,000 tents would be distributed in the camp.
The official said the government should also provide food and other relief items to people.
Army Field Hospital Commander Colonel Asif and Lieutenant Muzaffar Ali were also present on the occasion.
