More rains forecast in KP today F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Widespread rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected to continue over Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa during next 24 hours and then gradually weakening to scattered rainfall on Friday evening and Saturday. According to Met Office heavy falls would continue to cause high flood in Kabul River, and further flash flooding in the local rivers including Kalpani, Kurram, Swat, Chitral, Panjkora, Khiyali and Jindey of the province. Flood situation in low lying areas of Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsada, Mardan, Swabi, Bannu, Karak and Lakimarwat Districts especially around the local rivers would further worsen on Friday and Saturday. Further landslides at many major /link roads feared. Flash flooding very likely in the ravines/streams of Malakand and Hazara divisions during the period. Meanwhile, Peshawar received 274 mm of rain on Thursday, while Cherat hrecieved 257mm, Kohat 233mm, Lower Dir 192mm, Chitral 41mm, Parachinar 21mm and Nowshera received 20mm rain. River Kabul was in high flood with an inflow of inflow, 187.5 thousands cusecs while out flow was also the same. However, there was forecast of 150 to 250 thousand cusec of inflow which could make the situation worst for the near by areas of the Kabul River.
